-Willow Screens-
Everyone has some need for screening in one form or another. Hiding unsightly areas, sympathetically blocking out a nosey neighbour, covering up those lovely green tanks that, for some reason, have to be installed in the middle of your garden. We offer a range of designs for screening, using two main methods; either the continuously woven fencing option or our timber framed panels. Take a look below at some examples of screening out oil tanks and other utilities.
The Barnsley
The curvy option, a simple ‘L’ shape design, allowing access to the tank from one or two open sides. This design has a curved corner, as opposed to a post and a right angle.
The Bledington
Here is a handsome example of a oil tank with formal right angled corners, clean and simple. This design, of course allows access to the tank from behind the screen.
The Combe
The timber framed option, these woven centered frames can be used in any combination, that suits your site and the orientation you require. All the frames are made to measure.

-woven Gates & arches-
All our gates are hand crafted by our local joiners and made bespoke to each customers specifications, measurements and design. Our gates can be made with either treated, kiln dried softwood or air dried oak. We have a number of styles which are popular with our customers or alternatively, if you have a design in mind, we happily work closely with our joiner and you our client to achieve what it is you are looking for.
The north leigh
A customers design and now so popular we have remade this style of gate in a number of different sizes for clients. This particular set was made with air dried oak.
The kidlington
A handsome full height version of the North Leigh, again, made bespoke and out of air dried oak.
The Lyneham
This gate design was a one off creation. The client wanted to be able to see through the top section of the gates, without their sprightly Terrier jumping out! Made from air dried oak, we also wanted the uprights to be a chunky oak doweling, as they were going to be more visible than the uprights in our standard gate design.
The Oxford
Our first gate design, simple, understated and goes with everything-it’s also the most popular choice. This happy gate makes the perfect addition to our woven fences and is great value.
The Full Oxford
This is ‘The Oxford ‘ in full height. In order to maximise the strength of our gates we have introduced a middle brace to support any gates over 5ft high or wide. If our client would rather the gate be made without the central brace, this can also be done.
The perfect combination…
Accessorise your gate with a stunning arch, specifically made to whatever height, depth and width you choose.
Take a further look below, there are many examples of our gates and arches insitu.
-Willow Wheelie bin screens-
We offer a wide range of designs for screening the dreaded collection of bins we all have. We work closely with each client to make sure the screening is functional and on budget. Designs can be merged or if you have your own ideas please do tell us, we are always happy to try something new.
The Clanfield
A funnel system with willow side and a tidy gate for extra screening
The Burford
The full works, roof, seamless willow sides and double fronted gates. A very handsome enclosure for those unsightly bins.
The Marlborough
The simplest of combinations and designs and does what is needed. Made up of two of our sturdy, woven centered, timber framed panels.
The Charlbury
A unique design, with full height, double gates, shelves for the black bottle bins and a side compartment for stacking logs.
The Coton
This design uses continuously woven willow to create a subtle screen, using the ‘L’ shaped, funneling system.
The Spelsbury
A very simple and efficient design of two timber framed, willow screens, fixed together to form a ‘L’ shape. This screen is also fitted with wheels, this is perfect for smaller driveways where the location of your bins may change.
The Duxford
A three bay combination, neat and simple and does exactly what it needs to.

-Hedgelaying & planting-
Hedgelaying is a traditional country craft which goes back hundreds of years. This ancient skill involves cutting nearly all the way through the base of the hedge’s stems and laying them at an angle of 30 to 40 degrees. The stems are tucked tightly together and strengthened with vertical stakes and horizontal binders, and stumps are cut close to the ground to encourage growth from as low as possible. The outcome is a stronger hedge which not only continues as a living barrier, but also produces sturdier re-growth from the already established root system – and its thorny exterior protects itself from grazing stock. Hedgelaying has great conservation and wildlife value as well as being aesthetically pleasing, and only has to take place every 15 to 30 years.
We are thrilled to announce that our very own Tim Radford has been awarded the British National Champion in hedgelaying for 2018.
