meet the Team
'Mad as a box of frogs they may be, but they’re my team and I absolutely adore them…' -Tim Radford Read more
Annie rose- 'the boss'
Annie is now seven years old, and as well as the WonderWood team to keep in line, she also has a little brother and sister to teach the weaving trade to. Don't be fooled by her dimples and her blonde locks; she runs a tight ship here at WonderWood. She always leads by example and shows those not pulling their weight how it’s done…
Tim- 'the troll'
Tim, a champion weaver, barrel roller, beer drinker and Supreme Champion of the National Hedge Laying Competition, is the founder and owner of WonderWood and Foxcotte, and dad to Annie, Oskar and Tilly. His ethos to a good day's work is simple; a day has not begun until you've dug a hole.
Immy- 'the cake eater'
Imogen, Tim's younger sister, has been weaving in Oxfordshire for the last five years but has been annoying and winding up Tim for the last 30 years - an art that she has practically perfected. Imogen's team in Oxford has grown from her two faithful Fox Red Labradors, Belle and B, to her husband Chris, Libby, her sister, and newbees Oscar and Ben. Her main loves are mayonnaise (only Hellman’s, though!) and cake.
Chris- 'just ask chris'
Chris, Immy's right hand man and shiny new husband, is now a fully subscribed member of the WonderWood team, bringing his invaluable knowledge on chainsawing and forestry skills into the mix - not to mention his unwavering positivity and support. As a closet willow weaver wannabe, he is finally earning his stripes and mastering the art of the bendy sticks. He still, however, doesn't like mayo.
Libby- ‘Trumpasaurus’
'Pantsed' on her first day, it was never going to be easy for Libby joining the Oxford team with her big sister teaching her the ropes. Straight into chainsaw trousers and thrown in at the deep end, it was a far cry from pulling pints of beer in Cambridge. A month in and Libby showed a real care and love for weaving and is an integral part of the Oxford team.
Bex- 'spell check'
Bex is Tim's partner and mum to Annie, Oskar and Tilly. She lives for grammar and spell checking; the dictionary is her rule book!
“I add a more “academic” flair to Annie, Oskar and Tilly’s knowledge. For example, Tim will teach them about trees and wood, but I’ll teach them about homophones; “wood” and “would” ”.
Exciting.
Laurence- ‘tour de force’
With the dream of opening a new branch (excuse the pun!) of WonderWood in Norfolk, Laurence has shown true commitment to the cause and has commuted from Norfolk to Cambridge most days to develop his skills as a weaver. With a multitude of magnificent skills (give him ANYTHING that’s broken, and he’ll fix it) he is now a fully established, fully fledged weaver - and we all wish him the very best… (even if Tim is absolutely gutted that he can’t spend every day weaving and problem solving with him!)
Norfolk’s extremely lucky to have him … we wish we could keep him for our own.
